About

Ember Play started as a group chat where a few of us kept dumping screenshots and half-finished thoughts about whatever we were playing on the train. At some point that got too chaotic, so we turned it into a proper site with real reviews and no filler.

We don't run press-release rewrites. Every game listed here got installed on an actual phone and played by someone on the team until we had a real opinion about it.

Games get picked in a boring but honest way: something looks interesting, someone volunteers to play it, and if it survives a week without being deleted out of frustration, it earns a write-up. We care a lot about how a game feels in short sessions and how badly it treats your battery.

We're a small team, we pay for our own devices, and we say when something is mediocre. That's the whole promise.
