Strategy
Tidewatch Command
★★★★☆ 4.4
Tidewatch Command hands you a stretch of coastline and a limited pile of resources, then asks you to keep everything running while threats roll in from the sea. It's slow-burn strategy — you plan, you place, and then you watch your plan survive contact with reality.
On a phone screen this could have been a mess, but the pinch-zoom is smooth and the game snaps to sensible grid points so you rarely fat-finger a placement. There's an auto-pause on major events, which I recommend leaving on.
Sessions are long by mobile standards, and the game runs warm during heavy waves. I'd play it on WiFi at home rather than on a train, but the depth is worth the charger.
What we liked
- Deep, thoughtful planning
- Clean pinch-zoom controls
- Auto-pause keeps chaos manageable
